This Cuban classic is said to have been a favorite of Ernest Hemingway. It has just the right balance of mint, lime, rum and sugar to chase thirst away and add zest to gatherings.


  • 1 ½ parts of Bacardi® Superior Rum
  • 1 ½ parts of simple syrup
  • juice of ½ fresh lime
  • 8 fresh mint leaves
  • A splash of club soda


  • In the bottom of a sturdy pint glass, muddle mint leaves, simple syrup and lime juice together. Fill the glass with ice cubes, then add rum and soda. Garnish with a spring of fresh mint and a lime wedge.
