The tub chair first emerged in 18th-century France as a streamlined and comfortable alternative to the formal armchairs of the past, then reappeared during the Art Deco period. Our take on this classic design is artfully carved from solid mahogany and inset with double-walled rattan cane for exceptional strength. It includes a thick, plush polyester-wrapped seat cushion and back pillow for comfort and support.

COMPOSITION & CONSTRUCTION

Frame
Kiln drying reduces the moisture content of the engineered hardwood frames and helps prevent warping, cracking and mildew.
Double-walled birds' eye rattan cane inserts are handcrafted and stained a matching mahogany finish.
Double-dowel joinery adds strength and integrity where the frame components meet.
Corner blocks are triangular wooden braces that are attached to the undersides of the frame's corners and provide additional support.
Frames are also glued, screwed and stapled.

Legs
Hardwood legs are part of the frame and are not removable.

Springs
Seat cushion is supported by a woven rattan peel deck.

Cushions
Seat cushion has high-density formaldehyde-free foam core that retains its shape over time.
The foam core center is wrapped with polyester fiber..
The back cushion has a fill of loose polyester fiber.

Machine Washable Slipcovers:

Machine wash cold gentle cycle in a commercial washer (without an agitator). Non-chlorine bleach as needed. Tumble-dry low in a commercial dryer for approx. 30–40 minutes. During drying, open dryer and pull fabric apart to ensure the center dries. Remove when slightly damp and return to furniture. Warm iron as needed. Any wrinkles will smooth out naturally. Do not line dry; weight of wet fabric may cause pulling or stretching. Clean all pieces simultaneously to prevent any color variances.

SLIPCOVER INSTALLATION

Carefully pull your new slipcover over the frame in a front-to-back direction. Smooth and tuck any excess fabric into the corners and sides of the seat deck. Once on, gently work the slipcover so that so that the zippers are aligned with the corners of the frame. The slipcover will fit snugly yet retain its relaxed look.

Gently slide on the cushion covers, making sure that the corners of the cushion fill the corners of the slipcover before zipping.

For loose back cushions or side pillows, fold in half when filling slipcovers. Gently work the pillows in the slipcover. Zip the slipcovers.

For a Sleeper Sofa, follow the above steps. Then arrange the slipcover onto the sleeper so that the flap (''trapdoor'') lies along the frame of the enclosed bed frame under the seat section. The slipcover ties (or interlocking strips) found on the flap should be tied to the sleeper mechanism to hold the flap in place. When folding out the sleeper, undo the ties and fold the flap down the front of the sleeper. For convenience, the slipcover can remain on the sleeper while using the sleeper mechanism.

For other metropolitan areas, your furniture will be delivered within 2 to 3 weeks.

Surcharges
Furniture, rugs and other large items are bulky, and can be heavy, so these items have a delivery and processing surcharge; this charge is listed in parentheses after the price and is an additional charge.

In-Home Delivery Service
We are proud of our exclusive In-Home Delivery Service. When indicated, these items are brought into your home, unpacked and assembled, and the packaging is taken away. Delivery is by appointment; Monday - Friday in all areas; Saturday delivery in some areas. In-Home Delivery is available in the contiguous 48 states as well as Maui, Oahu and the Island of Hawaii.

Return Policy
To help you with holiday gift giving, we are extending our return policy for gift items purchased between October 15, 2009, and December 24, 2009. If you or a recipient are dissatisfied with a gift item purchased during this time, it can be returned by January 31, 2010, for a refund of the merchandise value. For non-gift items, if you are dissatisfied for any reason within 30 days, (or within 7 days for Quick Ship upholstery) you may return your purchase for a refund of the merchandise value.

At Pottery Barn, we take great pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our products. Attention to design, materials, and construction is our priority. We carefully inspect your order prior to shipment; upon receipt, please inspect your purchase and notify us of any damage. We will arrange for a prompt replacement.

We cannot accept returns on monogrammed, personalized, special-order items, or on items damaged through normal wear and tear. We also cannot accept returns of final-sale items which are identified by a price which ends in .99.

For returns of items purchased from your Pottery Barn registry, we will gladly provide a refund or exchange for the merchandise within 90 days of your event or within 90 days of purchase, whichever date is later.
