How to Decorate with Pumpkins

The leaves are changing and the kids are back in school – there is definitely a hint of autumn in the air. Break with the traditional Jack-o’-Lanterns by artfully adding some sophisticated style to your fall decor. Decorating with pumpkins is a great way to spice up your home - both indoors and out.

Put them on your porch. If you want your front-door decor to last beyond October 31, try staggering colorful gourds and white pumpkins with your Halloween decorations. Light up the walkway with large metals lanterns and flameless pillar candles for a look that will carry through to winter. For a fresh take, opt for galvanized metal pumpkins that complement any style.

Design your own succulent planters. Succulents are a great way to bring some green into your home – even if you don’t have a green thumb. Low on maintenance and high on style, they are one of the biggest crazes in both gardening and home decor. Clean out a pumpkin or two to create bold, dynamic displays that can live inside or outside.

Elevate your interior. Often crafted from glass, marble or stone, faux pumpkins add a little fall whimsy to any surface. (Think dining-room tablescapes or a pop of seasonal spirit atop your mantel.) Pumpkin glass cloches can be illuminated with LED string lights for a little extra dazzle, or filled with a flameless pillar candle.

Add printed pillows. The crisp fall air often pulls us indoors. Cozy up on the sofa with an abundance of pumpkin throw pillows, and get ready to tune into the game or your favorite TV show premiere.

Serve up snacks on festive plates. What better way to celebrate the season than with a fall-centric soiree? Gather around the hearth and serve up snacks with entertaining essentials crafted in organic pumpkin shapes. Display the serveware when not in use to bring a touch of seasonal style to your kitchen.
