Snacks for a Game Day Party

Kick off football season with delicious game day snacks! Your guests will be as excited to enjoy your game day fare as they will be about their team winning. These simple snack recipes from us at Pottery Barn will be just the sustenance you need to cheer on your team to victory.

Sleeping Beauties

The traditional take on Pigs in a Blanket is always a hit while watching football. The short ingredient list and easy assembly provides you more time to enjoy the game and your company.

Ingredients:

1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough

24 cocktail franks

1 egg lightly beaten with 1 tsp of water

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cut each roll into thirds. Wrap a cocktail frank in the roll and pinch slightly to seal. Brush the pastry with your egg mixture and place on the tray. Serve these tasty treats on a colorful platter, and don't forget a yummy ketchup or mustard-horseradish dipping sauce.

Guac Attack

Another crowd-pleasing football snack is guacamole – people seem to flock to it no matter what! You can make this recipe mild, spicy or make several different heat levels to suit your guests. Also, it’s totally easy to double the recipe for a larger group.

Ingredients

2 ripe avocados, halved, peeled and pitted

1 lime, cut in half

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp cumin

1 small tomato, seeded and diced

1/4 cup onion, finely chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

Optional: chopped cilantro, diced jalapeno pepper, cayenne pepper

Tortilla chips

Fresh cut vegetables such as cucumber and bell pepper

Place the avocado in a bowl and squeeze the lime halves over it. Mash the avocado and lime juice together with a fork to your desired consistency. Stir in the remaining ingredients.  Adjust seasonings to your taste. Leave the guacamole in the fridge for a half hour to allow the flavors to develop. When it's game time, place it in a bowl with a serving spoon. Set out a large bowl of chips and platter of fresh-cut veggies on the side. Make sure to grab some before it's all gone!

Score for Sweetness

Score the winning touchdown with these decedent brownies. Trust us when we say the chocolate chips makes them irresistible.

Ingredients:

1 stick of unsalted butter

1 cup of sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 eggs, lightly beaten

1/3 cup cocoa powder

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Use the stick of butter to lightly grease an 8x8-inch glass baking dish, and then lightly dust it with flour and set aside. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Remove from heat and gently stir in the sugar, vanilla and eggs. Next, mix in the cocoa, flour, salt and baking powder.

Once the mixture is combined, stir in the chocolate chips and pour into your baking dish. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. The brownies are ready when a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. Allow your brownies to cool, and then use a small spatula to cut and serve. Display your treats on a tiered stand to give your table some height.

These easy snacks are sure to be a winning combo for any crowd! Spread them out on your table and fill pitchers with your favorite drinks for guests to enjoy during the game.
