3 Ways to Serve a Margarita

Cocktail trends come and go, but the margarita has remained a fan favorite since its fuzzy inception in mid-century Mexico. One story goes that a Tijuana-area restaurant owner developed the iconic drink in 1938 for an aspiring actress who was allergic to most spirits. Another origin story has a wealthy Dallas socialite concocting the drink on the fly for affluent guests at her Acapulco vacation home in 1948. One of those guests is said to be Tommy Hilton, who eventually added the drink to his hotel bars. Although the margarita is synonymous with the glass bearing its name, it’s now being served in all kinds of glasses, ranging from round goblets to sleek wine glasses. Shake up how you entertain at your next party with our three favorite ways to serve a margarita.

Traditional Margarita Glass

The shape of the iconic margarita glass is inspired the classic champagne coup. The bigger shape was created to accommodate frothy ice. Accent a traditional margarita glass  with a lime wedge for a classic presentation.

Vintage-Inspired Goblet

A generous goblet is one of the most versatile pieces in the sparkling world of glassware. From water to cocktails, they’re appropriate for all beverages. Keep things visually interesting with a garnish of small limes on a stirring stick.

Stemless Wine Glass

Stemless wine glasses are casual yet elevated, easy to store and dishwasher-ready. More fitted for outdoor use versus their stemmed counterparts, top off this modern take on the margarita with a squeeze of fresh lime.
